About our speaker
Dr Pilar Hernandez is one of the two managing directors of the SORMAS Foundation, where she focuses on business development and project management. She holds a PhD and MSc degree on the control of infectious diseases and, previous to joining the SORMAS Foundation, she worked several years in consulting and project implementation of disease control programmes in international settings, mainly in Africa and Latin America.

The Surveillance Outbreak Response Management & Analysis System (SORMAS) is an open-source platform that allows epidemiological disease surveillance and early detection and management of disease outbreaks. SORMAS is currently in use in several countries worldwide with plans for its establishment in further countries.
